I was going to start using a stair stepper as my cardio routine. But I didn't really know if stair steppers counted as cardio? I know it will give me more muscle in my legs, but will it burn the fat covering the muscle?

A: Anything that raises your heart rate is considered a cardio workout. You can do jumping jacks in place or squat thrusts and that will help you burn some fat too. Instead of buying stair steppers, if you have a flight of stairs in your house or your apartment building, just use those.
